TCL Solar Completes Acquisition of DAS Solar to Build a Fully Integrated PV Value Chain

Quzhou, Jul. 2, 2026 - TCL Solar, a pioneer of BC technology, held the closing ceremony for its controlling acquisition of DAS Solar in Quzhou, marking the successful completion of the strategic transaction. The acquisition brings together complementary strengths across the entire PV value chain from silicon wafers and solar cells to modules, creating a fully integrated manufacturing ecosystem. By combining technological innovation, industrial synergy, and operational excellence, the integrated company is well positioned to enhance long-term competitiveness and contribute to the sustainable development of the global PV industry.

The ceremony was attended by Wang Cheng, CEO of TCL Technology; Ouyang Hongping, CEO of TCL Solar; Liu Yong, Chairman and President of DAS Solar; and other distinguished guests, witnessing a significant milestone in the evolution of vertically integrated PV manufacturing.

Complementary Strengths Create a Fully Integrated Value Chain

Speaking at the ceremony, TCL Solar CEO Ouyang Hongping emphasized that vertical integration is becoming increasingly important as the photovoltaic industry continues to evolve toward higher efficiency, stronger supply chain collaboration, and greater customer value.

He noted that TCL Solar brings more than four decades of photovoltaic expertise and a global leading position in silicon wafer technology, supported by over 1,600 core native BC patents. DAS Solar, meanwhile, contributes proven large-scale BC cell and module manufacturing capabilities together with well-established domestic and international sales channels. Rather than simply combining production capacity, the acquisition creates an integrated value chain spanning silicon wafers, cells, and modules, unlocking significant synergies across technology, manufacturing, and market development.

Looking ahead, Ouyang said the combined company will continue advancing next-generation BC technologies, strengthen manufacturing to deliver premium product quality, expand its global market presence through a customer-centric approach, and build a world-class integrated photovoltaic enterprise.

Wang Cheng, CEO of TCL Technology Group, reaffirmed the company's long-term commitment to the PV industry. He noted that the integration brings together the complementary strengths of both companies, enabling greater value creation through full value chain collaboration. By accelerating the development of competitive end-market products and leveraging TCL's global resources, the combined company is well positioned to strengthen its international market presence, transform technological leadership into commercial success, and further enhance its global competitiveness.

New Product Launches Expand BC and Perovskite Tandem Technology Portfolio

The ceremony also featured the launch of three new products, highlighting TCL Solar's R&D strength and collaborative innovation in TBC and perovskite-silicon tandem technologies.

The high-efficiency TBC dual-glass module integrates three core innovations, including photolithography-enabled TBC cell architecture, low-cost metal back contacts, and high-density encapsulation. It delivers a maximum output of 841.13 W with module efficiency exceeding 25.02%, setting new performance benchmarks.

The TBC monofacial dual-glass residential module adopts an 1800-format design and an integrated invisible thermal-welding process, delivering 500–510W of power with 25% module efficiency. Its all-black, full-screen appearance significantly enhances rooftop aesthetics, making it ideal for premium residential installations worldwide.

Designed for next-generation PV technology, the perovskite-silicon four-terminal tandem module achieves 802.5 W output and module efficiency exceeding 28.5%. Featuring spectral utilization optimization, a large-area perovskite top cell with bandgap engineering, and optical optimization of the silicon bottom cell, the module maximizes solar energy conversion through three key technological innovations.

Accelerating BC Commercialization for Global Growth

The acquisition of DAS Solar marks a pivotal step in TCL Solar's strategy to accelerate the commercialization of BC technology. By bringing together BC intellectual property, manufacturing processes, and module production capabilities within a fully integrated value chain, the company has established a solid foundation for the large-scale deployment of BC products.

TCL Solar is actively expanding BC production capacity and positioning BC technology as the cornerstone of its module business. Leveraging synergies across the entire value chain, the company aims to accelerate product commercialization, capture opportunities arising from the industry's transition toward next-generation N-type technologies, and build sustainable long-term competitive advantages.

Supported by a well-established global sales network, TCL Solar has completed its commercialization roadmap and channel deployment for BC products, providing a strong foundation for worldwide market expansion.

Strategic Integration Drives Sustainable Development

The strategic integration of DAS Solar represents a major milestone in TCL Solar's long-term development strategy and its vision of building a fully integrated photovoltaic value chain. Beyond strengthening its own manufacturing capabilities, the acquisition reinforces the company's ability to deliver greater customer value through technology leadership, operational excellence, and end-to-end integration.

Building on this new chapter, the combined company will continue leveraging its integrated value chain to accelerate the development and commercialization of high-efficiency photovoltaic technologies while working closely with global partners to foster a more collaborative, sustainable, and innovative industry ecosystem. Through continuous technological advancement, TCL Solar aims to contribute to the global energy transition and support a low-carbon future.
