TCL Solar Back Contact Technology

What is Back Contact Technology?

Back Contact (BC) solar cells are a high-efficiency solar cell technology where both the positive and negative electrodes are placed on the backside of the cell. This design effectively reduces shading area and enhances the absorption and utilization efficiency of sunlight. The founder of the BC technology is Dick Swanson, also founder of SunPower.

Back contact key advantages

Enhanced Reliability
Lower operating temperature anti-crack.
High Cell Efficiency
Efficiency improvement by 6%-10% compared to traditional modules of the same area.
Intelligent shade management
Cell-level bypass diode technology.
35+ years of Back Contact Expertise
Decades perfecting high-performance Back Contact solar technology.
More Energy Yield
Shading optimization, better temperature coefficient.
More Power, Faster Battery Charging
With over 4% more rooftop capacity than TOPCon, you can fit more solar on your roof, generate more energy and charge your home battery faster.
No more trade-off between aesthetics and efficiency
No busbar design, eliminating front metal lines present a more visually appealing rooftop install.
