Storage and backup
A battery stores the solar energy you do not use straight away, so you can use it in the evening or when the grid goes down. With storage, solar stops being a daytime-only source of power and becomes a supply you can rely on around the clock.
We make storage for homes and for businesses. Our X1 is an all-in-one system for homes that can grow over time. Our X5 and W10 serve commercial and industrial sites, with backup that switches over in milliseconds during a power cut and capacity that scales as the site needs more.
Below we explain how much storage you need, what happens during an outage, how our systems expand as your needs grow and how we keep them safe on site.
How much solar can the X5 take?
What is the TCL W10 and who is it designed for?
The TCL W10 is an AC-coupled battery energy storage system for large commercial and industrial sites. It's built for installers and EPCs handling sites where floor space is tight, PV is already installed, or a DC-coupled retrofit isn't practical.
Can I add more storage later without replacing what I have got?
What happens during a power cut?
What happens to my home if the grid goes down?
How does the system scale as our energy needs grow?
What safety features does the W10 include?
Six layers of fire and thermal protection, from gas and smoke detection through aerosol suppression to pressure and exhaust valve management, in an IP55, C3/C4M-rated enclosure built for outdoor deployment.
How much storage do I actually need?
How scalable is the W10 system?
A single cabinet delivers 125kW / 261kWh. Up to 24 cabinets can run in parallel, scaling to 3MW / 6.3MWh for large multi-array C&I sites.
